Cherry Season (& Smoothie)

We are smack in the middle of one of my favorite and most delicious seasons! Cherries are in abundance these days, and I say the more the merrier. These juicy morsels of sweet-tart goodness are as good as they are good for you.

Cherries are full of fiber, vitamins, and minerals… including vitamins C, A, and K. They’re also full of potassium, magnesium and even calcium. They also contain antioxidants like beta-carotene and choline. I love to eat cherries alone (although too many will do a disrespectful number on my digestive system), with other fruits and veggies (I’ve been known to toss them in a salad with a spicy leaf like arugula), or in the most accessible (and considerably less messy) way: in a smoothie.

You KNOW I wrote a recipe.

ENJOY!
