If you know anything about me, you know I’m always looking for new and more accessible ways to optimize wellness on both the inside and the outside. During the summer of 2022, I started working with truffles – specifically in relation to skincare – because of their impressive hydrating and plumping properties. With the half-century mark right around the corner, I’m very interested in meeting the moment in all of my glowing glory.
Both black and white truffles are amazing for hydration, but the latter is even more beneficial for unbalanced skin. In addition to deep nourishment, white truffles also help with balancing sebum production, dullness, blemishes and even acne! I’ve learned that it’s also important to understand the nature of the ingredient. Oils are the least potent, standard extracts are better, but high potency extracts (which to my knowledge have to be specially produced) are the best way. The concentration is higher and you need a whole lot less to get the job done.
So I played around with some ingredients and delivery systems before finally settling on my favorite kind of product: a serum. In my opinion, serums are the best kind of delivery system because they combine the bio-availability of a good essence with the staying power of a good moisturizer. My finished recipe (which was tried and tested a million times before final render) uses white truffle along with two of my favorite peptides (reishi and pea) and South African Golden Grapeseed (not to be confused with the green European variety). The results are impressive. In the last year of beta testing, we’ve seen a major reduction in hyper-pigmentation, a significant reduction in breakouts and acne scarring, and an overall glow that has at least me getting all of the compliments!
I called the formula ‘Fairy Drops‘ because I personally feel like it’s pretty magical! It’s a gorgeous shade of blush pink (thanks to hibiscus… which is also anti-inflammatory and anti-acneic) and it smells divine. This lovely serum makes its official debut for Holiday 2023 in November, but HABIBI BODY Members will have access in October. We’ve put up a waitlist for this serum, which is limited edition and is first come… first served.
I hope you get to experience it if you are so inclined. I personally love it, and my rule is always that I will never sell anything that I wouldn’t use myself. This new serum passes that test with flying colors.
